Are you displeased with your smile? Maybe there’s a few minor changes you would like to have made; but you don’t know where to start. As a result, maybe you continue to live with a smile that you just don’t love. But you don’t have to settle for a smile that you’re ashamed of.

Veneers are an important tool to help give your smile a new life. Veneers can help change the appearance of a tooth which is chipped, discolored, has other damage, or close a small gap in your teeth. At Eugene Family Dental, we offer several types of veneers which can help build your confidence. In today’s post of our dental health blog, we’re going to look at the ins and outs of veneers.

Veneer is a thin porcelain shell which are permanently bonded into your teeth. Veneers are used to cover flaws in your smile; they can cover deeply discolored teeth, chipped teeth, or even be used to close minor gaps in your smile. Veneers only take two appointments to attach.

In your first appointment, we prepare your tooth for the veneer. Generally, we have to remove a little bit of enamel from your teeth and take measurements for your veneers. The veneers are then completely at a dental lab; and at the second appointment we bond them to your teeth. The entire process is fast, easy and completely painless.
How do you know if veneers are for you? Veneers are great for correcting cosmetic troubles on the surface of your teeth; including the color, shape, or texture of your teeth. When you come into our office, we will perform a full exam of your teeth. This helps allow to make sure you have teeth which are healthy enough for veneers, and can treat any other problems to may have prior to installing the veneers.

At Eugene Family Dental we offer three different types of veneers: porcelain veneers, e.max veneers, and Lumineers. These types of veneers are have different advantages; porcelain veneers are the traditional option, but e.max veneers and Lumineers also have strengths and advantages.

Porcelain veneers are extremely strong. These are the most trusted types of veneers on the market. Porcelain veneers require slightly more enamel to be removed than other types of veneers; however the results are amazing and blend completely seamlessly into your natural smile.

E.max veneers are constructed of lithium disilicate. This material is incredibly strong, and help gives some of the most amazing results of any veneers on the market. E.max veneers don’t require as much enamel to be removed for the placement of the veneer. This makes them an extremely popular as a minimally invasive treatment.

We also offer Lumineers. Lumineers are about as thin as contact lenses; the extreme thinness of these veneers means no enamel needs to be remove from your teeth for preparation. That also means that the procedure is completely reversible if need be.
